History

Celebrating 186 years of pastoral settlement on the Clarence.

The Story

Founded on the Clarence

Yulgilbar Station was founded in 1840 by Edward Ogilvie as a 200,000 acre sheep station. The run selected comprised the most fertile region of the Clarence River valley in North Eastern New South Wales, encompassing over 80 kilometres of the river.

The property was owned by the Ogilvie family until being sold in 1926 to a syndicate of the Morrissey brothers and silent partner Tom Baillieu.
